Chapter 3: Exodus Caldyra preview.

A short partial preview of a rough text from my Caldyra novel. (Will still be edited and corrected)
Out of the darkness the figure descended on her in a flash. Her eyes struggled to open, her body nearly not as awake as her mind. She was racing, compelling her body to listen, an instinct to react to her assailant.
“The escape route, where?” grunted a low and impatient voice.
Fear gripped her body the same as his hand did her throat. Her training, so far away. She was outmatched and struggled to catch up with reality. Without warning the man dragged Ninae off the bed by her neck and pressed her against the cold wall. His tight grasp on her throat made it hard to breath, let alone scream. She frantically looked around the room looking for a way out, a solution. The only way was to give in to the demand, the way out. In the darkness she signaled towards the corner of the room. For years a faded yellow carpet had held a secret but would soon be forced to give it up.
